For nearly three quarters of a century, the American arms manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. has provided a wide selection of quality firearms to the market. The company's portfolio includes hunting weapons (both shotguns and rifles), long sports firearms, pistols and revolvers, which have been the foundation of its range since 1949.
The Mark IV series is a successful successor to the Mark II and III series. It differs from its predecessors primarily in a new, simpler disassembly system. The Mark IV can now be disassembled with a single button. The lower and upper parts of the pistol are connected by a pin, and during disassembly, the upper part is tilted upward. This eliminates the complicated and lengthy disassembly process of the Mark II and III series.
Another component of the Ruger Mark IV Hunter pistol is the adjustable sights – it is part of the equipment of all Ruger Mark IV models, but the Hunter model additionally includes a fiber-optic front sight.
The grip frame is made from a single piece of material, which is precisely machined on CNC machines. The pistol barrel is cold-hammered, making it exceptionally accurate and providing a very long lifespan.
The ergonomically designed, smoothly shaped and comfortable grip boasts a naturally pointing angle. The grip also features interchangeable panels and is non-slip, ensuring a precise and confident hold. The cylindrical bolt design offers a higher accuracy potential than traditional moving slide designs.
The manual safety of the firearm is ambidextrous, but it can be adjusted to the left side only using the included spacer. The magazine disconnect prevents discharge when the magazine is removed. On the left side of the frame, there is an ergonomically placed magazine release button.
