In just a month, on September 7, 2024, the 8th annual charity March of the Rapid Response Team will start in Ústí nad Orlicí. A large turnout is expected from members of the security forces, the Integrated Rescue System (IZS), and, of course, civilians who share the march's idea of helping. The proceeds will go to the Police and Firefighters Foundation. Rigad will not be missing from the event.

Marches of armed forces are often something special. That “something” is the atmosphere. And who creates the atmosphere? It's of course the people. Members of the armed forces, IZS, and friendly civilians, they are simply people who are on the same wavelength and always have something to talk about. Whether you go on the march alone or with buddies, it is almost certain that you will meet many like-minded people. And all this in the beautiful surroundings of the Orlické Mountains.

And because Rigad shares not only affiliation with this great community of people but also the idea for which the march is organized, they have proudly become one of the main partners of the march. Last year's event was also characterized by quality organization, so we have no doubt that the upcoming one will be at least as successful. Incidentally, there were even groups who didn't walk their route, but ran it. Does it sound like a challenge?

March of the Rapid Response Team - medal

The March of the Rapid Response Team connects like-minded people. Its main goal, however, is to help.

Everyone Chooses Their Route

As we mentioned at the beginning, the march will start on September 7, 2024, between 8:00 and 10:00. The starting point will be the Černovír shooting range near Ústí nad Orlicí. Participants can choose from 4 routes of different lengths and difficulties upon registration. All routes are now available online on the march's website and will definitely be worth it.

Routes:

  • City - 8.3 km (also suitable for strollers)
  • Short - 12.8 km
  • Long - 23.8 km
  • Extreme - 29 km

The full registration fee includes refreshments for the journey, a medal with ribbon, and 2 lapel pins - with a bar and a pin. During registration, there is an option to purchase additional pins, as well as a patch for the march or a shirt with embroidery. You will also be able to contribute any amount directly to the Police and Firefighters Foundation.

Anyone who wishes to participate in the march but cannot physically make it to the starting location on the given date will have the option to complete it virtually. What does this mean? It's simple - when registering for the race, you tick the Virtual March box and complete the chosen route length anywhere else. You prove to the organizers that you have honestly completed your route using any application that tracks routes. The medal will then be delivered to you via Zásilkovna.

This Year for the Police and Firefighters Foundation

“We help because we want to and we can,” is the motto of the March of the Rapid Response Team. This year, the proceeds will go to the Police and Firefighters Foundation. Its goal is to improve the living conditions of the children of police officers and firefighters who have died or suffered serious physical injuries in the line of duty or in connection with their service.

Note: Registration for this year's March of the Rapid Response Team is unfortunately already closed. Follow the March of the Rapid Response Team on social media and don't miss any future editions. You can support the Police and Firefighters Foundation at any time through their website.
